Pre-pandemic, the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which represents over 290 airlines across the globe, recognised that travellers were increasingly concerned about the impact of flying on the climate. As a result, IATA needed to reassure flyers of its investment in carbon reduction technologies and its ambition to hit Net Zero by 2050.
We built and implemented a global launch animation, raising awareness of this groundbreaking new commitment with multiple audiences. In addition, we worked closely with IATA to craft a script that told this powerful and complex story in just two minutes. Finally, we conceived an animation style that was informative but light, while adhering to existing campaign brand guidelines.
In just four weeks, we produced two cuts – a full 2m20s animation for IATA’s social channels and a shorter 20s cut for CNN’s international news channel. Within four months, the 20s edit had nearly 300,000 views, making it the second most-viewed video on IATA’s YouTube channel.
